- Praise Team is gearing up new songs for Lent and Easter. Practice is held at the YMCA in Belmont now, which is the same place we have Sunday morning worship.
- Web Team has meetings scheduled two weeks in a row. Hmm, got to figure out whether we're really going to meet both times.
- The CHAOS group is really ramping up, in fact another church wants to start a CHAOS group like ours. Gee, we're franchised!
- The marketing team is going gangbusters, and meeting via conference call weekly (most of our other teams meet once a month and do business by email in between).
- We are planning an Easter Egg hunt at the Y, tentatively April 11, which is the day before Easter. Next step is to meet with the Y people. We hope to have new T shirts for for that, and somehow I got stuck with being the planner for the shirts. It has been fascinating going to the screen print place--and they are going to donate the cost of the artwork, and are donating 60 cents per shirt, which is awesome! Nylene at Earthbound Custom Screen Printing is doing a great job for us.
- Girl Scout Sunday is coming up some time in the spring, and before that we have cookie sales. We have not been able to do much with Girl Scout Sunday in other years, but we have more girl scouts this year than ever before, so I hope to do more.
- Pastor Jeff (hereinafter referred to as PJ) has started a new newsletter called Family Tree News Digest. It's a very short email newsletter with five bullet points each week. What a great idea--none of those huge newsletters that take forever to read and to write!
- Can't forget our annual activities--Shamrock Cookie Bake is coming up. It's a mission thing, our kids bake cookies to be given away at a soup kitchen.
- Oh, Ash Wednesday there is a community service where lots of area churches get together for a combine worship service. Our own PJ is preaching, which is cool.
- The Faith and Fitness group meets at the YMCA during our 11:00 service. The idea is you go to the 9:30 service, then at 11:00 you get to do exercise at the Y. I went once and it was pretty cool, unfortunately I've been doing other things at 11:00 since then--mostly child care, music, and Sunday school.
- I joined the Intercessory Prayer Team. These are folks who get a list of the people who asked to be prayed for during the week, and sit down to pray. The leader of this group is just incredible. To tell you the truth I'm afraid to have her pray for me, because her prayers change lives, sometimes quickly and decisively. The Intercessory Prayer Team currently meets between the two services. There's only a half hour gap there, and I have to pack up my music equipment, get my kids to Sunday school, find out whether I'm supposed to be on duty for nursery care during the second service, sometimes hook up the laptop computer for Sunday school, and do prayer. In half an hour. Last week I also helped a lost child find her mother, and in the process managed to lose one of my own children. Life is never boring!

Ok, too much going on!
Obviously since I haven't posted here it means there's so much going on at White Pines United Methodist Church that I've been too busy. Well, I suppose it wasn't obvious. But boy is there a lot going on.
