Not everything is weird and complicated

There is relaxing normal stuff going on, along with all the busyness. Today we took a group of kids from church on a walk in the woods at the Blandford Nature Center. They got to play in the mud and see the maple sugaring operation. It was free, fun, educational, and relaxing. What more can you ask for? Of course there are lots of other things going on as usual, including:
  • A team with TV cameras and print reporters came to look in on our Faith and Fitness time this week that happens during the second service. It's very cool that at 11 am there are three options--a worship service, Faith and Fitness exercise, and Sunday school for the kids. Our other normal times are the 9:30 am service and the Wednesday evening discussion group, though there are small groups meeting other times.
  • Last week we took a group of kids to the museum and planetarium in Grand Rapids (and to ride on the carousel of course).
  • The upcoming Easter Egg Hunt is turning into a bigger event than planned, and will be joint with the Wolverine World Wide Family YMCA in Belmont. The event has a different name now, which eludes me at the moment.
  • We did the Shamrock Cookie Bake, as planned, making over 500 cookies. We had a large turnout, filling up the kitchen at Comstock Park High School.
  • Planning is going on for Relay for Life 8 weeks from now (which is considered very soon).
  • Girl Scout Sunday unfortunately came and went without most of us noticing, though we did have a few girls in uniform that day. The Scouts seem to have changed the focus of it since last year.
  • We still have girls selling cookies though. We divide the sales among all the scouts in the congregation so everything will be fair and people won't need to hunt down a girl scout to get cookies.
  • We added the domain WorshipAtTheY.org to try to make things clearer.
Ok, that's all I can think of now, but there's more of course.
